The stoke…

Posted by Jerry 20 Dec, 2008
So the other day when I was driving to go windsurfing I had butterflies in my stomach and everyone in front of me was driving way to slow!
I thought to myself “It’s funny that after 23 years of windsurfing you would think the drive to the beach would just become hum hum.” It has not and if anything I just can not get there fast enough. After 23 years I am just as stoked, if not more. I love this sport.

New Wave Panthers Rock!!

Posted by Jerry 7 Nov, 2008

I received my new Wave Panthers and a few days later we had the best 4.2m wave day of the year here in Chatham, Cape Cod. The wind was NNE which is side/side-on at the Chatham Lighthouse. The waves were logo high with mast high sets. Once on a wave when you turned and went down the line you were out of the wind because the wave was big enough to block the wind. Huge down the line rides and the smoothness of the Panthers made for a killer day!

Day 3 of the month and we get cranking 3.7m. Nice surprise after being on 7 roof tops that morning installing weather instruments.

Vulcan Sept. 6 at Forest beach

October is hands down my favorite windsurfing month on Cape Cod! The water is still warm the tourists are gone and the fronts start rolling through. Day two of the month and we had a killer 4.7 session at Hardings Beach on Nantucket Sound. Sunny and warm. Bring it on!!!

Welcome July!

Killer Day!

Well I think I jinxed the wind when I said “The SW winds have arrived!!!” They just shut down for the month of June. Definitely the worst June for wind on Cape Cod that I can remember!! The weather was hot and sunny so 98% of the population was happy. Us windsurfers are a funny crowd. Perfect beach weather does not cut it! Our faces light up when we see the beach umbrellas take off rolling down the beach like tumble weeds.
I was glad to see June go knowing that historically July fourth give or take a day or two has good wind. This year it was the 3rd that delivered with solid 4.7m wind all day long. We decided to go on an adventure with such good wind. The good thing about Chatham is you can get just about every sailing condition from one launch if you are willing to go the distance. Check out the photo. We started and ended at Forest Beach in South Chatham.

Killer day today on Cape Cod (5-19-08)

Posted by Jerry 19 May, 2008

The wind just kept building all day until I was able to hit the water at 3:30. Check out the Graph!! Rigged my all killer orange Ezzy 4.2m and was totally fired up. My good friend Peter Kimball took these pictures from the water with a GoPro Hero Camera. It’s funny how it does not look that windy in the pictures?
