Windsurfing is my passion. I was lucky to grow up in Hawaii where I had access to the ocean and waves. As I grew up, I spent more and more time at the beach. From age 11, I spent every day after school at Hookipa Beach windsurfing with the best in the world. I joined the windsurfing World Tour when I was 15, which meant traveling around the Europe competing at the highest level possible. I still remember showing up in Barcelona alone with all my windsurfing equipment at the airport and standing outside the exit door not knowing where to go. Now, only three years later, can routinely navigate my windsurfing bags through any airport and any beach feels like home. Over the past three years, windsurfing competitions have brought me through Europe, America, and Japan.

When I graduated high school in 2007 I decided to enroll in Princeton University; I feel my academics are a form of mental cross training, allowing me to better focus my mind during competitions. My physical cross training for windsurfing involves training with the Lightweight Crew Team for endurance, weight lifting for strength, and yoga for balance and body awareness.

Right after my last Princeton exam I’ll be jumping on a plane or hopping in a car to get back in ocean. And of course, I still continue to travel the world in my fight for the number one spot in the world of windsurfing.
